Tanning or whitening?
It is a general fact that most Caucasians would love to get a tan so that there will be some color on their skin. On the other hand, Filipinos prefer to be white because they think that being fair skinned is beautiful.
But for me, I am not sure what to do. You see, my skin looks rather yellowish that if I don’t go out in the sun for quite sometime, I develop a sickly pallor. That is why when I was younger, I stayed under the sun for long periods of time so that I will become tan, look healthy, and have an even skin tone.
But when I got older, I noticed that I am already developing age spots from too much sun exposure. And I am not about to have those airbrush tans. It is not available in our city and I am not about to go abroad in order to have it.
So what I do now is I apply whitening lotion just so the uneven blotches on my skin will be evened out–I hope. At least the whitening lotion is not as harsh as bleaching and not as expensive as ingested pills like glutathione. Oh well, I hope this works though. I really can’t go back to tanning anymore so I am really hoping that the lotion will lighten the dark patches on my skin.
